Quick Staff UK is currently recruiting an experienced Light Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy and well-established workshop operation. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering competitive pay, stability, and a supportive working environment. You will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the workshop, working across both heavy-duty and light-duty fleet vehicles. This is a hands-on role that also carries responsibility for organisation, compliance, and technical support. This role requires a strong mix of technical expertise, organisation, and communication skills to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient workshop operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles
- Carrying out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
- Accurately tracking workshop time per vehicle
- Managing workshop stock and inventory
- Ensuring COSHH compliance, cleanliness, and security
- Booking and coordinating MOTs
- Providing technical support to operational teams on vehicle and equipment issues
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience as an HGV Fitter / Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Confident using hand tools and power tools
- Solid mechanical knowledge across engines and vehicle systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
Pay & Benefits
- £16.75 – £21.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Full-time, permanent position after 13 weeks on assignment
