Fork Lift Operator

Job Description

On behalf of its client in Newport, Quick Staff UK is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our client’s dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently operating forklifts to facilitate the movement of goods within our client’s warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining an organised and safe working environment while ensuring that all shipping and receiving tasks are completed accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Counterbalance and Combilift forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and containers.
  • Complete basic warehouse paperwork
  • Handle materials with care, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used to prevent injury.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment.
  • Assist in the organisation of the warehouse and yard, ensuring that all items are stored correctly and safely.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in materials handling, particularly in a warehouse environment.
  • Valid Counterbalance license.
  • At least 3 years experience of operating a forklift truck.
  • Experience of operating a 14T forklift truck.
  • Ability to lift heavy items safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Basic maths skills for inventory management and record keeping.

This role has the opportunity of becoming a permanent role with our client after 13-weeks on assignment.

Hours of Work:
8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday
