Quick Staff UK is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in the Blaina area for a Material Handler to join their production team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. You’ll play an important role in ensuring materials are safely and efficiently moved throughout the factory using forklifts and overhead cranes. Full training will be provided on the overhead crane, making this an excellent opportunity to develop new skills. this assignment is expected to be reviewed every 6 months with the potential for it to be extended.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely move components between transport stillages and production line stillages.
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to transport materials around the site.
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Operate an overhead gantry crane once fully trained.
- Support production by ensuring materials are available where needed.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve production targets.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or material handling environment.
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence is highly desirable and will be a distinct advantage.
- Candidates without a current forklift licence may still be considered if they have the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Previous overhead gantry crane experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A positive, reliable and hardworking approach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong awareness of health and safety.
Hours of Work:
Rotating Weekly Shifts
Week 1 – Days paid at £12.71/hr
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
Week 2 – Afternoons paid at £14.30/hr
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Friday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
Pay & Benefits:

- Monday to Friday: £16.95 per hour
- Saturday: £19.07 per hour
- Sunday: £22.24 per hour
- Pay rates increase following a successful 6-month probationary period
